This listing is for 1.25” inch double-fold quilt binding (2.5” strips folded in half) made from a 100% soft cotton fabric in navy blue and white thin stripes from Robert Kaufman's Sevenberry collection. You can choose from several lengths of binding from the drop-down list (it will come as one continuous roll of binding). Please see my attached picture chart for a guide on how much quilt binding you'll need for the standard sizes!
This fabric is cut on the straight grain, not on the bias, and is ideal for quilt binding with straight edges or large curves (bias binding is better for quilts with tight curves!).
All So Biased tape is lovingly crafted in a smoke-free home, and comes wound in a roll so you don’t have any card creases to iron out before using. Check out my page on Pinterest (https://www.pinterest.com/SoBiased/) for pinned tutorials on how to sew with bias tape and binding and projects to make with it. A quilt size chart is pictured to help you with the amount of binding you will need for your quilt! Please convo me if you need a specific size not listed and I may be able to accommodate your request. Follow me on Instagram (@sobiased), Twitter (@SoBiasedShop) and on Facebook (SoBiased) for sneak peeks of upcoming bindings, sales, coupon codes and more!
I accept PayPal at checkout. You DO NOT have to have a PayPal account to pay through PayPal and you can use most major credit cards. I also accept Etsy Gift Cards.
All payments must be made within 48 hours of purchase or your order will be cancelled.
**Please note all California residents will be charged a 9% sales tax. The cost of living in beautiful California I guess...***
All ready made orders will ship within 2 business days, most likely next business day. All made-to-order tapes and quilt bindings will ship within 1-2 weeks. Most will ship sooner than this, but if it's a large order, it may take longer. Please convo me before you place the order if you would like an exact date of when your order will ship!
Items will be shipped via USPS calculated shipping (the Etsy discounted prices, not the Postal Store prices!). You can choose First Class or Priority Shipping at checkout.
***I ship to your Etsy address. Please make sure it is up to date. SoBiased is not responsible for packages shipped to an out of date address. If you are unhappy with your bias tape, you can return it for a full refund minus shipping charges. You must pay return shipping. The bias tape/quilt binding must be in the same condition you received it; new, uncut and sell-able.
Please contact me before sending your return items.
All items are made in my smoke-free home, and packaged individually in cello resealable plastic sleeves. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have further questions I have not addressed!
Double-fold bias tape is made from strips of fabric cut on the bias (a 45 degree angle providing stretch to the fabric strip), with the raw edges folded in towards the middle of the strip, and then folded over again, tucking the raw cut edges inside the fold. Double-fold quilt binding can be cut on the grain, cross-grain, or bias, but the strips are folded just once in half, with the cut raw edges aligned. Tutorials with great pictures on how to sew on bias tape and quilt binding can be found on my Pinterest page! https://www.pinterest.com/SoBiased/bias-tape-tutorials/

To seal the ends, I find that Fray Check (found at most sewing supply stores) does a great job keeping the ends from looking raggedy. Clear nail polish or a dab of hot glue squished between the folds also works!
Most of the fabrics I use for my bindings are new and unwashed before being made into binding. All vintage fabrics are washed before being made into binding. I sew with my bindings and haven't had any issues with shrinkage or rippling in them after being sewn on and washed, nor have I received any feedback commenting on this happening. If you're concerned about color bleeding though (e.g. a red binding on a white quilt!), Shout brand Color Catchers (found on Amazon or at Target) are fantastic at preventing this. I highly recommend them!
I'm happy to do custom orders! If you are requesting a specific fabric that I'm not currently listing in the shop or plan to list, there may be a minimum order of yards required to purchase. If it's a fabric that I use, there is no minimum order. You can send me fabric to make binding from, or you can tell me the fabrics you would like and I can purchase them. Convo me for more custom order details!
